Patrick Cantlay Withdraws From 2026 Cadillac Championship

PGA Tour golfer Patrick Cantlay withdrew from this week's Cadillac Championship on Monday, citing an illness.

The eight-time PGA Tour winner will be replaced in the tournament field by Michael Thorbjornsen, who will tee off alongside Corey Conners with a 1:30 p.m. ET first-round tee time on Thursday.

Cantlay, the World No. 32 ranked golfer, is in the midst of an impressive 2026 season on the PGA Tour. The 34-year-old American golfer finished T8 at the RBC Heritage, T12 at the Masters and T7 at the Valspar Championship in his last three tournament appearances.

Cantlay will be one of several notable absences during this week's signature event at Trump National Doral, joining Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele, Matt Fitzpatrick, Ludvig Aberg and Robert MacIntyre.

World No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler will headline the tournament field. Scheffler is fresh off back-to-back runner-up finishes, one behind McIlroy at the 2026 Masters and another behind Fitzpatrick at the RBC Heritage.

Fitzpatrick and his younger brother, Alex, claimed victory at the Zurich Classic this past weekend. With this win, Alex earned his PGA Tour card for two years and a spot in this week's Cadillac Championship field.

The Cadillac Championship is a new signature event added to the PGA Tour's 2026 schedule. This week's tournament marks the PGA Tour's first return to Miami's Trump National Doral since this World Golf Championships event in 2016.
