‘Lioness’ Season 3 promises more action and drama

Details regarding the show’s third season have been revealed, and viewers can expect more action and higher stakes. Joe (Saldaña) finds herself struggling to find the balance between her commitment to her job and her home life.

Meanwhile, alongside Westfield (Michael Kelly) and Kaitlyn (Nicole Kidman), she goes head to head with enemies that lurk. “Patterns appear where they shouldn’t, names vanish, and paths rearrange,” says a press release ahead of this gritty new season.

Though Saldaña has been playing Joe on screen for years, she knows when to lean on those around her for help—and Taylor Sheridan happens to be one of those people for her. “I had various conversations with Taylor in terms of where he was gonna take it, and I really am so happy and so proud of the direction that he eventually took for Joe,” she recently shared in conversation with Entertainment Weekly.

“Taylor’s a very educated man, and he’s very curious about foreign and domestic affairs, and he really has a lot to say about all the information that he’s able to take on. And I do have to call him a whole lot, asking, ‘What does this mean? What does this stand for? Is this how it really happened? Why is there conflict here? What do you understand about this?’ And I’m just grateful that, when he is able to pick up the phone, because he’s so busy, he’s this fountain of information. And it’s so helpful, because otherwise I don’t know how I would be able to say the mouthfuls of dialogue that he has for us.”

Don’t miss the new season of Lioness, streaming on Paramount+ on August 2.
