In an extraordinary moment, a group of Caracas firefighters made a miraculous rescue just as they were preparing to resume their search efforts elsewhere.

After completing operations on a collapsed home in the area, the group was preparing to leave when they heard a very faint bark in the rubble. The crew immediately turned around and got to work, hoping to recover a furry survivor.

Working in extremely dangerous conditions between concrete slabs, debris and twisted metal, the firefighters worked by hand to try to free the injured dog. After creating a small gap, the crew lowered a bottle of water to hydrate the dog as they worked to free him.

In one of the most heartening moments in the Storyful clip shared by ABC7 (KABC-TV), the crew cleared the debris surrounding the pup and lifted him to safety. The dog, visibly shaken, was carried away from the rubble and held firmly in the arms of one of the brave firefighters.
