Because the Bacon Brothers are performing at Frankfort’s Grand Theatre this week, we thought it would be fun to pick some Kentucky celebs and determine their degrees of separation from the most famous of the Bacon Brothers.
How easy was it? Well, this Six Degrees of the Bluegrass State was written by Cheryl Truman, who through the late Herald-Leader columnist Don Edwards once met actor Tom Hulce at the Kentucky Derby.
Hulce appeared in “Animal House” with Kevin Bacon. That’s how easy it is to get to Kevin Bacon via degrees.
Some Kentucky celebrities are easy to match up with Bacon: He and former Louisville resident Tom Cruise both appeared in “A Few Good Men.”
Some were much harder.
If you want to do your own Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, here’s a hint: Hit the cast list of the Oliver Stone-directed movie “JFK” on IMDB.com. Just about every actor working at the time had a role in that film, including Bacon. It’s a Six Degrees of Bacon bonanza.
