Allegiant to add flights from Lexington to Myrtle Beach

Allegiant Air has announced that beginning May 29, it will have two non-stop flights a week from Lexington to Myrtle Beach, S.C. The new route is one of 12 being added to various cities, the Las Vegas-based airline said Tuesday.

For flights from Blue Grass Airport to Myrtle Beach International Airport, Allegiant said it will offer promotional fares as low as $54, one way, on tickets bought by March 11 for travel by Aug. 12, when the flights will end for the year. Seats are limited, and other fees might apply. Go to Allegiant.com for pricing.

Allegiant offers low-cost fares — averaging less than $100 one way — from Lexington to several Florida airports, including Tampa/St. Petersburg/Clearwater, Orlando/Daytona Beach/Sanford, Fort Lauderdale, and Fort Myers/Naples/Marco Island/Punta Gorda.

Allegiant is adding flights from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport to Myrtle Beach (beginning May 30) and to St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (beginning May 15).

Allegiant is starting the following seasonal routes this summer:

■ To Los Angeles International Airport from: Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Great Falls, Mont.; Kalispell, Mont.; and McAllen, Texas.

■ To Myrtle Beach: From Columbus, Ohio, and Syracuse, N.Y.

Year-round flights are being added:
