Allegiant Air cancels Blue Grass Airport flights to Florida

Allegiant Air canceled two Lexington flights to Florida on Thursday because of the storms associated with Hurricane Matthew, according to Blue Grass Airport spokeswoman Amy Caudill.

The airline has also canceled its nonstop flight from Lexington to Orlando on Friday.

“We don’t anticipate many other cancellations at this time,” Caudill said. “However, for travelers going to coastal destinations, they may want to check on their connecting flights. Most of the airlines have travel advisories posted on the home page of their websites that shows which cities are being affected and what the options may be for travelers going to those destinations.”

Hurricane Matthew is expected to hit Florida on Friday. Orlando’s Walt Disney World closed in anticipation.
