A brand of dog food was recalled Tuesday because it may contain plastic pieces that can be a choking hazard.

Mars Petcare US of Franklin, Tenn., voluntarily recalled CESAR Classics Filet Mignon Flavor because hard, white pieces of plastic may have entered the food during the production process. CESAR Classics Filet Mignon can be purchased individually, as well as, in flavor variety multipacks.

Some customers have reported finding the plastic pieces but no injuries or illnesses have yet been reported, the company said.

The dog food was distributed throughout the United States. Customers are urged to throw it away or take it back to a retailer for a full refund or exchange.

Look for lot codes printed on the side of the container that begin with 631FKKC and 631GKKC. The dog food also was included in variety packs with multiple containers. Those lot codes are: 632D14JC, 633B24JC, 634A14JC, 634A24JC, 634B14JC, 634B24JC, 634E14JC, 635A24JC, 635B14JC, 636D24JC, 636E14JC.
