▪ American Society of Highway Engineers has welcomed its newest chapter — the Bluegrass Chapter — during a chartering ceremony at Embassy Suites recently. Founded in 1958 in Pennsylvania, ASHE is dedicated to the collaboration of state transportation professionals, private contractors and suppliers within the transportation industry. The Bluegrass Chapter is now one of 48 active chapters within ASHE across the country. The Bluegrass Chapter joins the Derby City Chapter of Louisville, and the TRIKO Chapter of Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati as the third chapter within the state.

The chapter’s next meeting is planned for late July. Upcoming events include a tour of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government transportation center, a discussion of potential transportation projects, a forum on local transportation issues, as well as lectures on recent and ongoing projects. Professionals who are interested in joining ASHE’s Bluegrass Chapter, should contact President Kevin Damron at KDamron@Palmernet.com.

▪ Highbridge and Ale-8-One are distributing Highbridge Spring Water to 58 Kentucky and southern Indiana counties. The Bluegrass soft drink bottler has state distribution to carry Highbridge Water in the 16.9-oz. bottle and the 1-liter Big Blue Swish, which is an officially licensed product of the University of Kentucky. Highbridge Spring Water began in 1982, and Ale-8-One started bottling in 1902.
