Bear and the Butcher will have a soft opening today, after more than a year’s work on the location on Euclid Avenue.

The restaurant has a balcony overlooking the Chevy Chase neighborhood off the upstairs cocktail lounge. Downstairs, customers can order house-made sausages and other kinds of pub food.

The restaurant, at 815 Euclid, is from the Behrs, the same family that created Pazzo’s, The Beer Trappe and Village Idiot.

Co-owners Brett and Brian Behr plan to serve lunch, dinner and brunch on weekends. The restaurant is open seven days a week.

The grand opening is at 11 a.m.
