Another Cincinnati restaurant chain coming to Lexington this summer
First it was Skyline Chili.
Now, another popular Cincinnati chain with a big following has announced that it is coming to Lexington: LaRosa’s Family Pizzeria plans to go in next to Skyline on Richmond Road.
Both restaurants are franchises of Holland Development, the owner of the First Watch restaurants in Lexington and Louisville, according to NAI Isaac, which brokered the sale. The two lots are at 2800 Richmond Road, and “are each the first of multi-unit Lexington development agreement with Skyline and LaRosa’s.”
The LaRosa’s Family Pizzeria on Richmond Road is scheduled to open this summer. The restaurant will have dine-in, pick up and delivery, according to a spokeswoman via email. The dining room will be full service, with capacity of about 200 customers.
A LaRosa’s had been announced for Nicholasville in 2015, but the plans fell through because of construction delays.
Now, there are plans for new restaurants of both chains. There has been no word, though, on where the restaurants will be.

LaRosa’s is known for its pizza, rondos (rounds of pizza dough with sauce and cheese) and calzones.
Skyline, which announced in mid-January that it would move to Lexington, is known for “Cincinnati-style chili,” which has cinnamon and other unusual spices and is served on top of spaghetti noodles.
