Discount airline offering new flights from Blue Grass Airport

Discount airline Allegiant announced on Tuesday that it is adding direct flights from Lexington’s Blue Grass Airport to Destin, Fla., according to Herald-Leader reporting partner WKYT-TV.

Allegiant will offer flights to the Destin/Fort Walton Beach airport beginning June 7. The flights will operate twice a week at least through Aug. 21.

The Destin/Fort Walton Beach area in the Florida panhandle is a popular vacation destination.

Prices for flights will begin at $62, one way, according to the Allegiant website.

Allegiant also flies into the Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Punta Gorda and St. Petersburg/Clearwater airports in Florida; Savannah, Ga.; and Myrtle Beach, S.C.
