Its latest video pitch comes in time for the holiday season, which apparently begins Oct. 2.
The commercial features a silky-voiced vixen urging lonely former Kentuckians — a traveling shot showing a crop of those mulleted, coonskin-capped and with hair teased up to Jesus — to call the number 1-885-883-8663.
Spoiler alert: Those calling the number will hear an unusually stirring version of “My Old Kentucky Home” sung by the late Kentucky governor A.B. “Happy” Chandler — really, the man could sing and, unlike, most Kentuckians, he knew all the words — and a code for 15 percent off at Kentucky for Kentucky.
In addition to its online business, Kentucky for Kentucky operates its “fun mall” on Bryan Avenue and a “fun stall” at The Summit at the corner of Man o’ War Boulevard and Nicholasville Road.
Those who text the number will receive the organization’s theme message, “Kentucky Kicks Ass,” on their cell phones. The ad will run on Kentucky for Kentucky’s social media platforms, according to Whit Hiler of Kentucky for Kentucky.
