Blue Grass Airport will again host a program that can make a traveler’s airport security process easier and faster.

Commerce Lexington and the airport are partnering to bring Global Entry enrollment to the airport in late November.

Global Entry allows low-risk, prescreened international travelers to have expedited entry into the United States. When they arrive in the country, members go to an automated Global Entry kiosk, bypassing passport control lines and paper customs declarations.

Global Entry members are also eligible for TSA Pre-Check, which expedites security screening at U.S. airports. Membership is good for five years, according to a release from Blue Grass Airport.

Applicants must complete an in-person interview with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, which is normally available at only a few dozen locations in the United States. With the Lexington partnership, Global Entry interviews with be held Nov. 26-30 at Blue Grass Airport.

Travelers should begin the application process by visiting the website cbp.gov/travel/trusted-traveler-programs/global-entry/how-apply. The interview is held after the initial application is processed. A non-refundable $100 fee is required.
