Will Kroger, Trader Joe’s be open on Easter? See Central Kentucky grocery holiday hours
If you’re preparing your Easter Sunday dinner this weekend and find yourself short a critical ingredient, fear not.
Several Central Kentucky grocery chains will have normal or adjusted hours for the holiday, which falls on Sunday, April 9 this year.
Here’s what to know about holiday operating hours for major grocery chains in the Lexington area, whether you still need to grab a ham or simply like to knock out your shopping on Sunday.
Easter grocery store hours 2023
Kroger
Kroger locations should be open for normal operating hours, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., but that could vary by location. Use Kroger’s store locator to check the one closest to you.
Other Kroger amenities, like the bakery and floral sections, may be open different hours, and the pharmacy will be closed Sunday, an employee confirmed Thursday.
Trader Joe’s
Trader Joe’s, at 2326 Nicholasville Road in Lexington, will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Easter Sunday. The store will have normal operating hours, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., for Good Friday and Saturday.
Aldi
All Aldi locations, including the Lexington stores, will be closed to observe Easter, the company’s website says.
Operating hours for Good Friday and Saturday are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Whole Foods Market
Whole Foods, located in The Summit at Fritz Farm, will be open normal hours Easter Sunday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Target
Target stores will be closed Sunday in observance of Easter. Store hours for Good Friday and Saturday are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Meijer
All Meijer grocery stores will be open regular hours Easter Sunday, including the pharmacy. Those hours are 6 a.m. to midnight.
Walmart
Superstore retailer Walmart will also be open normal hours Easter Sunday, typically 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Hours may vary by location, however, and you can check using the online store locator.
