Aldi, the low-price grocery store, opens new location in Central KY. Here’s when

Central Kentucky is getting another Aldi.

One of the fastest-growing grocery retailers is opening its first Nicholasville location June 25. The newest store, at 641 Keene Centre Drive, will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday at 8:30 a.m.

Aldi is part of the Keene Landings commercial development at the intersection of U.S. 27 and Keene Road. Also planned for the area are a Wawa, Cattleman’s Roadhouse, Chipotle, Panera and other food and retailing options.

The grocery store will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The first 200 customers on opening day will receive a gift bag and gift card as part of the store’s Golden Ticket giveaway program.

“At our new Nicholasville ALDI store, customers will see why so many already choose ALDI for their weekly grocery shopping,” said Regional Vice President Laura Bauer in a news release. “As shoppers look to stretch their dollar further, we’re excited to open this new location and bring more people a high-quality grocery selection they want and need at the lowest possible price.”

The Jessamine County store puts the chain one closer to its goal of having 3,200 stores across the country by the end of 2028.

There are about 25 Kentucky Aldi locations, including two in Lexington, one in Richmond, one in Frankfort, one in Georgetown and several other cities.

Aldi stores offer a rotating collection of nearly all exclusive brands, in addition to organic meats, seafood and produce along, with cheese and wine selections. Shoppers won’t find name-brands at Aldi like they would at Kroger or other big box stores, something that drives lower prices.

The rotating selection ranges from unique foods and lifestyle goods to home decor and pet accessories. Items are on-trend and seasonal with an assortment of limited-time options.

Nearly all Aldi locations provide shoppers with delivery and curbside pickup options.
