Buffalo Trace parent completes acquisition

Sazerac Company, the parent company of Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, announced Wednesday that it has completed its acquisition of Constellation Brands.

The purchase includes two Kentucky-based manufacturing facilities, including the Tom Moore Distillery in Bardstown and a bottling and warehousing operation in Owensboro, the company said.

The $334 million transaction will see Sazerac expand its Kentucky employment to 650.

The new company plans to add 100 jobs in Kentucky over the next five years.
