New horse center offers wellness treatments
A new horse wellness facility opened Monday near Lexington. The Bluegrass Equine Center in Salvisa will hold an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday.
The center, which will serve mixed discipline horse owners and trainers, was designed by Thoroughbred trainer Charles Simon. The facility includes stall accommodations for 60 horses, half-acre grass paddocks and a dirt training track.
The center's rehabilitation and therapy equipment includes a hyperbaric oxygen chamber and an above-ground swimming pool.
