TrollandToad expands store in Corbin

Fantasy role-playing retailer opened its new larger store Monday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Corbin in Laurel County.

In April, the 18-year-old company, started by Jon and Lana Huston in their home in Keavy, bought a one million-square-foot warehouse that was the former home of American Greeting Cards.

TrollandToad occupies about a third of the warehouse, where it also has a retail store and tournament center. The company sells collectibles, miniatures, board games and supplies for games including Yu-Gi-Oh!, Dungeons and Dragons, Pokemon, Magic: The Gathering, and others through its Web site.

The company recently added 50 jobs and plans to add about 100 more to bring employment to more than 250 in the next two years. The company received preliminary approval from the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority for tax incentives of as much as $1 million by meeting job and investment targets.
