Churchill Downs doubles ownership of Kentucky Downs
Churchill Downs has purchased an additional 5 percent of Kentucky Downs, doubling its ownership stake in the Franklin track with Instant Racing.
Churchill bought out the share owned by former board member Brad Kelley.
Kentucky Downs filed change of ownership paperwork with the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission, which must approve the change.
The commission is scheduled to take the switch up at its Feb. 15 meeting, along with Kentucky Downs' request for 75 more Instant Racing terminals, bringing their total to 275.
