WKYT switching female news anchors' time slots
CBS affiliate WKYT (Channel 27) is switching its morning and noon female anchors.
Barbara Bailey, who has anchored the station's 10 a.m., noon and 12:30 p.m. newscasts with Bill Bryant in recent years, will soon begin anchoring the 5 and 6 a.m. shows.
Meanwhile, Stacy Ellison, who has been anchoring the morning news with Bryant, will take over the 10 a.m., noon and 12:30 p.m. newscasts.
The move will mean a return for Bailey to the 5-7 a.m. hours, which she previously co-anchored from 2006 to 2009 when the station made great advances in viewership.
News Director Robert Thomas said the change will be effective Wednesday, the first day of classes for public schools in Fayette County.
"A change like this makes sense to make on the first day of school when people get back into morning routines," he said.
