Richard Dorton, CEO of regional accounting firm Dean Dorton Allen Ford, announced plans this week to transition out of his position at the end of the year. While Dorton will stay with the firm, his goal is to focus more on working with clients and the firm's younger leaders.

"Our firm is passionate about developing future leaders," said Dorton, one of the founders of the firm. The company began in Lexington in 1979 with Dorton, Doug Dean and Joe Ford. There are now more than 150 employees in Lexington and Louisville. Dorton has served as CEO for the past 15 years.

David Bundy, managing director of the firm's Lexington office and director of business consulting, has been selected to assume the role of CEO effective Jan. 1. Before his current role, Bundy led the company's health care industry team and consulting services group.
