WTVQ anchor Tom Kenny on medical leave

Tom Kenny, anchor at WTVQ (Channel 36), has been off the air the past few weeks dealing with a health issue.

The ABC affiliate announced Wednesday that Kenny is on temporary medical leave for "heart rhythm problems."

Doctors are working to correct the issue, and Kenny expects to return to work later this month.

"We're looking forward to Tom getting through this and having him back on the air," said WTVQ General Manager Chris Aldridge.
