Lexington: Lee Todd, former president of the University of Kentucky and a serial entrepreneur, has joined Space Tango as a mentor and adviser. Todd holds Ph.D degrees from MIT, where he received six U.S. patents. He returned to UK where he served as an electrical engineering professor. He left UK to start two successful technology-driven companies. Projectron, a developer of high-resolution, projection CRTs for the flight simulation industry, was acquired by Hughes Aircraft. His second company, DataBeam, which designed teleconferencing systems and software, was purchased by IBM in 1998. Todd then became senior vice president of IBM’s Lotus Development Co. and served in that capacity until returning to UK as president.
Space Tango is the nation’s first business accelerator specifically for space enterprises and entrepreneurs.
