2015 Breeders' Cup logo unveiled

The Breeders' Cup World Championships, which are coming to Keeneland for the first time next year, officially unveiled the 2015 logo on Thursday in downtown Lexington.

More details on next year's events will be coming soon, officials say.

The 2014 Breeders' Cup will be Oct. 31-Nov. 1 at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, Calif., and will be televised live on the NBC Sports Group.

Keeneland, which begins its fall meet on Friday, also will be televised this weekend on NBC. On Saturday, two-time defending Horse of the Year Wise Dan will compete in the $1 million Shadwell Turf Mile at 4:30 p.m. on NBCSN, and on Sunday the $500,000 Juddmonte Spinster Stakes will air at 5 p.m. on NBC.

Both races are part of the Breeders' Cup "Win and You're In Challenge" that guarantees entry for championship races for winners.

Coming Monday: The Herald-Leader will have an interview in Business Monday with host committee chairman Kip Cornett on plans for the citywide activities.
