Melting Pot closes Lexington restaurant

The Melting Pot at 152 West Tiverton Way in Lexington has closed, according to a news release from the The Melting Pot Restaurants Inc.

The fondue franchise, which opened in June 2008, closed at the end of July for financial reasons, the company said. About 20 employees were affected by the closing.

"While there are no plans to reopen the Lexington location, we hope to return to the market in the future," the company said. "We sincerely regret the impact this closing has on our guests and our family of team members."

The Louisville Melting Pot at 2045 South Hurstbourne Parkway remains open.
