Education

Sewanee: The University of the South: Stites & Harbison attorney Buck Hinkle Jr. has been named to the board of regents. He will serve a six-year term, which expires in 2021. Hinkle, who earned a bachelor’s degree from Sewanee, is a member of Stites & Harbison’s Lexington office. His practice is concentrated on the construction industry and business litigation.

Engineering

CMTA: William “Bill” Sharp and Sam Claxton have been named principals with the firm. Sharp joined CMTA in 2011 and has more than 18 years’ experience designing energy-efficient buildings. Claxton, a professional engineer and licensed fire protection engineer, has been named a principal at the firm. He joined CMTA in 2010 and has more than 14 years’ experience designing energy-efficient buildings.

Finance

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati: Donald R. Mullineaux of Lexington has been re-elected as an independent director. Mullineaux is emeritus duPont Endowed Chair in Banking and Financial Services at the Gatton College of Business and Economics at the University of Kentucky. He received a Ph.D. in economics from Boston College and is a former senior vice president and director of research at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. He is also chairman of the board of directors of the Federal Home Loan Board of Cincinnati.

Central Bank: The following new members have been elected to the bank’s Lexington Advisory Board: Jeremy Bates, general manager, Bates Security; Dr. John Hobbs, Central Internal Medicine; Glenn Hoskins, attorney, Webb, Hoskins, Brown & Thompson; Dave Houchin, president, Intech Contracting; Charlie Scroggin, senior vice president, HDR-Quest Engineers; Debbie Long, owner, Dudley’s on Short; Dr. Greg White, White, Greer and Maggard Orthodontists; and Brian Wood, founder and CEO, BC Wood Properties. Law

Morgan & Pottinger: Laura Crittenden Tipton has joined the firm as an associate. Tipton will work out of the Lexington office and will support several of the firm’s practice areas, including government and regulatory litigation, business disputes and litigation, state and federal constitutional litigation, and appellate law.

Stites & Harbison: The following attorneys have been named new members (partners) in the firm’s Lexington office: John Pollom, Business Litigation Service Group, and Laura Mays, Torts and Insurance Practice and Employment Law Service Group.
