Blue Grass Airport sets passenger record in 2015
Blue Grass Airport set a passenger record in 2015, with 1,245,251.
That number is a 3 percent increase over 2014’s 1,209,327. This is the second consecutive year the airport has seen a record number of travelers, according to a Wednesday news release.
The airport attributed the increase to factors including the 2015 Breeders’ Cup World Championships at Keeneland, airlines upgrading the size of several of their airplanes to hold more passengers and provide more first-class service, and the addition of flights to Myrtle Beach, S.C., by Allegiant and to Philadelphia by American Airlines.
