Business awards for the week of Feb. 22

▪  Donnie Davis, director of Central Kentucky Farms at the University of Kentucky and a longtime College of Agriculture, Food and Environment employee, has received a distinguished service award from the Research Center Administrators Society. Davis is the society’s outgoing president.

“Donnie has been part of the lifeblood of this organization and one of its greatest advocates for its growth,” said Barry Sims, incoming president. “Not only has he served in every executive position we have, but also on many of its committees. That kind of dedication is hard to find, and we want to show our appreciation with this honor.”

A 1973 UK agriculture graduate, Davis has 40 years’ experience managing research farm operations, resources and budgets, buildings and facilities, personnel, program interpretation and public relations.

▪  The Lantern at Morning Pointe of Lexington has won a Best of 2016 Award from SeniorAdvisor.com.

SeniorAdvisor.com has more than 100,000 reviews and ratings for senior care options across the country, all of them provided by seniors and their loved ones. To identify the best, they narrow the list to those that have earned at least a 4.5-star rating out of 5 from reviewers. Only about 1 percent of the nation’s senior living facilities make the cut.
