Plus-size clothing store Torrid coming to Fayette Mall

Torrid, a retailer that specializes in fashion for plus-size women, is coming to Fayette Mall, the management team announced Tuesday.

This will be the first Torrid store in Lexington; there is one at Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass in Simpsonville. The clothing line in sizes 12 to 28 features trendy apparel, lingerie, swimsuits and accessories.

Construction is to begin immediately, with plans to open in the fall. The store will be between Allsports and Sephora in the Macy’s section, according to a news release.

“Torrid’s addition as a retailer at Fayette Mall enhances the overall retailer shopping mix,” mall general manager Myron Worley said in a news release.

“Torrid is one of the leading fashion-forward retailers which offers a plus-sized clothing line to those interested in the most current fashion trends and pop cultures,” said Sarah Enlow, marketing director at Fayette Mall.
