▪ Lexington Clinic has added a Dietitian Services department, which includes medical nutrition therapy and diabetes self-management education to its patient offerings.
Bethany Borders, a registered dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and a licensed dietitian with the Kentucky Board of Licensure and Certification for dietitians and nutritionists, will provide instructional classes and one-on-one conferences to give patients the tools and support they need to manage their nutritional needs.
The program includes medical nutrition therapy for patients who have diabetes, kidney disease or have received a kidney transplant within the last three years. A diabetes self-management program is also offered for patients diagnosed with diabetes. This self-management education will include an initial one-on-one meeting with Borders, followed by group classes and an additional individual assessment.
