Updated: Toyota childcare worker, Georgetown restaurant server have coronavirus
An employee at Toyota’s Child Development Center in Georgetown has tested positive for COVID-19, Rick Hesterberg, a spokesman for Toyota Motor North America said.
On Friday, Toyota learned that a Bright Horizon’s employee at its Child Development Center tested positive for COVID-19, Hesterberg told the Herald-Leader Sunday.
Both Toyota and Bright Horizons, which manages the facility, have notified the families that use the facility, he said.
The employee’s last day of work was March 18 and the daycare center has been closed since March 21. The employee is doing well, will remain in self-quarantine and will not return to work when the facility reopens until being cleared by a physician, Hesterberg said.
Hesterberg said at this time, Toyota officials are not aware of any employees or their children contracting the virus as a result of being in contact with the childcare facility.
While the center was open, it followed Kentucky Department of Public Health guidelines, including enhanced cleaning and disinfecting between every shift to minimize risk to families and staff. While closed, the center is undergoing another round of enhanced cleaning and disinfecting, he said.
Also in Scott County, the Josie’s in Georgetown restaurant posted on Facebook Saturday that a member of the waitstaff had tested positive for the Covid-19 virus.
The server last worked thirteen days ago on March 15th, the post said.
“Due to this news, Josie’s in Georgetown will be closing for the next two weeks as we take every precaution necessary to keep our customers and staff safe,” said the post.
