Coronavirus in Lexington: 7 new cases reported this weekend, bringing total to 204

There were 204 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Lexington as of Sunday afternoon, an increase of seven since Friday afternoon, according to the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department.

No new deaths were reported, leaving the total of coronavirus-related deaths in Fayette County at seven.

The health department said 55% of patients have been released from isolation, which means they are no longer considered contagious and are expected to recover.

Gov. Andy Beshear is expected to provide an update on the coronavirus in Kentucky at 5 p.m. Sunday. On Saturday, he reported 185 new cases and four new deaths, bringing the official statewide totals to 1,840 confirmed cases and 94 deaths.
