Coronavirus testing to be available at downtown Lexington church next week
Coronavirus testing will return to Shiloh Baptist Church in Lexington next week.
Drive-through and walk-up tests for COVID-19 will be available at the church, at 237 East Fifth Street in Lexington, Oct. 1-3. The test site will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Testing is free, and appointments are not needed.
“We know testing is an important component for reducing the spread of COVID-19 in our community,” Mayor Linda Gorton said in a news release. “I encourage the community to take advantage of this opportunity and the many other public testing locations across the city.”
The testing site is provided as part of the Mayor’s Mobile Neighborhood Testing Program, which offers testing “in neighborhoods experiencing a disproportionate number of COVID-19 cases.,” the city said in the release. Bluewater Diagnostic Laboratory administers the program.
Free testing is also available at:
Bluegrass Community and Technical College, 500 Newtown Pike, and Southland Christian Church, 2349 Richmond Road, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. No appointment necessary. Offered through Bluewater Diagnostic Laboratory.
1505 College Way and 1350 Bull Lea Road, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. seven days a week. Appointments are required and can be made at lexington.wildhealth.com.
