Dozens of people gathered Thursday night on the East Jessamine High baseball field in Nicholasville to pray for head baseball coach Erinn Thompson who is battling COVID.

“Life has thrown Coach Thompson a curveball and he is currently struggling with complications due to Covid,” a Facebook post from the school said.

Families involved in the school’s baseball program prayed for Thompson’s sons.

“We are thinking about them and sending all the love we can. If you know the Thompson boys, you know they are fighters on the basketball courts and baseball fields,” the post said.

“Their hearts are strong and their drive is unshaken; no doubt that they take after their father. Erinn, hang tough. Keep fighting. We will keep fighting right along with you, Coach. “
