Baptist Health Lexington treating Kentucky coronavirus patient in isolation
A patient who has tested positive for coronavirus is being treated in isolation at Baptist Health Lexington, the hospital said in a news release late Friday night.
“All recommended precautions are being taken to protect the patient and staff,” the hospital said.
The hospital said its medical team is working closely with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and health officials from Lexington and the state.
Gov. Andy Beshear announced earlier Friday that three more Kentuckians had tested positive for COVID-19, bringing Kentucky’s total to 14 cases.
One of the new cases reported was in Montgomery County, where the patient was isolated at home, health officials said. Another case was in Jefferson County. Beshear said Friday afternoon that he could not yet say where the other person who tested positive is from.
It was not immediately clear if the patient at Baptist Health was that case or a previously unreported case.
