Lexington salutes military with parade and Veterans Day appreciation event

Lexington observed Veterans Day with a parade and festival downtown at the Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Saturday.

The festival featured live music, resource booths and food trucks.

A Veterans Day appreciation event will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Veterans Park.

The time of fellowship and expression of thanks will be held along the war memorial walk behind the baseball fields off St. Elias Lane and will include a musical performance, as well as remarks by Brig. Gen. Benjamin Adams, who is commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs, and U.S. Rep. Andy Barr, according to a news release.
