Veterans in Cove Haven honored
The National Association for Black Veterans held a Veteran’s Day Memorial service during a chilly Friday morning rain shower at Cove Haven Cemetery in Lexington. Over 500 veterans are buried in the cemetery located at the end of Whitney Ave. Among those buried there are veterans from the United States Colored Civil War troops, Spanish American War, WWI, WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War. The Henry Clay High School R.O.T.C. placed more than 500 flags on the graves of the military veterans and the Bryan Station High School R.O.T.C. provided the Presentation of Colors during the service. Veteran’s Day is Sunday, November 11.
