Kroger moves to limit hoarding of sanitizers, cold and flu meds amid coronavirus worry
Amid growing public discussion about coronavirus, Kroger is putting a limit on the number of sanitizing products and over-the-counter cold and flu medicines customers can buy.
A message posted at the top of Kroger’s website states, “Due to high demand and to support all customers, we will be limiting the number of Sanitization, Cold and Flu related products to 5 each per order. Your order may be modified at time of pickup or delivery.”
Yellow signs bearing the message were posted on shelves in Lexington Kroger stores, WKYT reported.
The company did not specify exactly which products were covered by the limits.
Some people have been stockpiling items, and retail chains in other cities have reportedly run out of some products.
Though the Centers for Disease Control does not recommend face masks for people who are not sick, masks began disappearing from shelves in Lexington stores last month.
There have been no confirmed cases of the COVID-19 virus in Kentucky.
