While many of us shook our heads over this weekend’s cold temperatures, Michael Stoddart decided to seize the day.

Stoddart, the owner of Lexington Ice Sculptures and Seasons Catering, put three ice sculptures at three downtown locations, Thoroughbred Park, the corner of Main and Limestone and by the fountain at Triangle Park. The ice columns are topped with a large heart etched with “We’re In This Together, #KyStrong.”

The sculptures were his son Matthew’s idea.

“He wanted to put some positive vibes out there, and this will be the coldest day we have for a while,” Stoddart said.
