Nearly 20 emergency crews were working to put out a structure fire on the 600 block of East Loudon Avenue.

The call came into dispatch for a working structure fire around 3:40 p.m. on Thursday afternoon. According to firefighter Holly Buchenroth, when firefighters arrived, they found advanced fire conditions in a story and a half residence.

She said the occupants evacuated prior to crews’ arrival, but one person was taken to a local hospital for minor burns.

Several firefighters were treated on scene for heat-related symptoms.

Traffic is being diverted from the area. The fire is under control as of 5 p.m., and fire investigators have responded to the scene and will begin an origin and cause investigation.
