Get ready for delays. Some lanes of I-75 in Fayette County will be closed for road work.
Milling and paving work on a nearly 10-mile stretch of Interstate 75 between Man o’ War Boulevard and the Clays Ferry Bridge will necessitate lane closings for the next few months, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said in an update Friday.
The Transportation Cabinet released a schedule for lane closures on both northbound and southbound I-75, saying drivers will be able to pass through the work zone but should expect delays and allow extra travel time while the project is underway.
Single lane closures will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and on weekends from 6 a.m. Saturdays until 8 p.m. Sundays, the cabinet said.
Double lane closures will be in effect in the overnight hours from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sundays through Fridays.
Weather, emergencies or other factors might cause the schedule to change, the cabinet said in the release.
The roadway rehabilitation project is expected to be complete by Oct. 1. It covers 9.58 miles between milepoint 107.445 and milepoint 97.865.
