Delta to resume nonstop flights between Lexington and New York City
Starting next year, Delta Air Lines will once again offer daily nonstop flights between Lexington and New York City.
The flights to LaGuardia Airport will begin May 7.
Daily flights will leave Blue Grass Airport at 7 a.m., arriving in New York at 8:50 a.m. Flights will depart LaGuardia at 7:59 p.m. daily and arrive in Lexington at 9:49 p.m. The planes providing the service will be the CRJ-900, according to a news release from Blue Grass Airport.
Lexington has not had daily nonstop service to New York City since before the COVID-19 pandemic, the airport said.
“Hardly a week has gone by when we haven’t heard from someone in our community asking about the return of nonstop service from Lexington to New York, so we are thrilled Delta Air Lines is announcing this flight will return to Blue Grass Airport in May 2025,” Eric Frankl, president and CEO at Blue Grass Airport, said in a news release. “Let’s now turn that enthusiasm into commitment by flying local and ensuring the success of this New York route.”
Ticket sales begin Saturday on Delta.com.
David Hart, Delta’s managing director for network planning, said the resumption of service “demonstrates our commitment to connecting Lexington to more destinations, offering customers greater convenience and choice whether they are flying for business or leisure.”
