Child shot, injured while playing with gun in Lexington, police say
A child in Lexington was injured in a shooting Thursday night while playing with a gun, police say.
The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. on the 1700 block of Biloxi Court in the Eastland Parkway neighborhood. Lexington police Lt. Steven Wiggins said the juvenile was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
There is no indication charges will be filed, but an investigation is ongoing, Wiggins said.
No additional information was immediately available Friday morning.
