Blue Grass Airport is one of many airports around the country that have declined to play a video in which Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem places blame for the government shutdown on Democrats.

“We are not playing this video pertaining to the government shutdown, in accordance with our policy not to display content of a political nature,” Amy Caudill, the airport’s vice president of marketing and community relations, said in a statement.

Caudill said the airport is continuing to play a Department of Homeland Security video featuring Noem that pertains to safety. Noem’s office released that video at the beginning of her term earlier this year.

In the new video, shared last week by Fox News, Noem says: “It is TSA’s top priority to make sure that you have the most pleasant and efficient airport experience as possible while we keep you safe. However, Democrats in Congress refuse to fund the federal government, and because of this, many of our operations are impacted, and most of our TSA employees are working without pay.

“We will continue to do all that we can to avoid delays that will impact your travel, and our hope is that Democrats will soon recognize the importance of opening the government.”

A DHS spokesperson told CBS News the video began playing at airports Thursday.

However, media reports indicate numerous airports are refusing to show the video, many citing policies against sharing partisan messages.
