A section of Rosemont Garden in Lexington will be closed for a month starting in November because of sanitary sewer construction.

The road will be closed from Lafayette Parkway to Cherrybark Drive, according to Lexington’s Division of Water Quality. The closure will begin Nov. 3 and last until Dec. 5.

Drivers are encouraged to use Cherrybark Drive and Southland Drive to detour around the closure. The city said residents who live in the area will be able to access their homes during construction.

“Drive slowly and watch for workers and pedestrians in construction areas,” the city said in a news release.

The construction is part of a federal consent decree that requires Lexington to improve its sanitary sewer system. The division said about 4,500 feet of sanitary sewer line will be added along Wolf Run Creek.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
