Woman killed in collision on Bryan Station Road in Lexington

A 51-year-old woman died in crash Sunday night in Lexington, according to city police.

The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. in the area of Bryan Station Road and Manhattan Drive. Police said two vehicles were involved in the crash, and one of the drivers was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Fayette County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Julie Cooper. She died of multiple blunt force injuries, and her death was ruled an accident.

The other driver involved in the collision was not injured, according to police. Criminal charges related to the crash were not expected as of Monday morning.

Bryan Station Road was closed for about 3 1/2 hours while officials investigated the scene. The collision reconstruction unit continues to investigate the crash.
