Pedestrian hit by Fayette County school bus on Richmond Road, police say

A pedestrian was hit by a Fayette County school bus Tuesday morning, according to the Lexington Police Department.

The collision happened just before 7:30 a.m. on outbound Richmond Road, near Lakeshore Drive. Lexington police Sgt. Ilya Sharapov said the bus hit a pedestrian, and the pedestrian was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

There were no students on the bus at the time, Sharapov said. No charges have been filed.

It was unclear Tuesday morning if the bus was operational after the collision. Sharapov said officers have cleared the scene and the road is reopened.
