Carbon monoxide leak at Lexington construction site sends 10 people to hospital

A carbon monoxide leak at a construction site in Lexington sent 10 people to a hospital Thursday, according to the Lexington Fire Department.

The incident happened around 2:30 p.m. at 3125 Dorchester Place, a construction site for an apartment building. The fire department said 10 people were taken to a hospital, two by ambulance and eight by the fire department’s mobile ambulance bus.

All the patients are expected to make a full recovery, the fire department said.

A diesel heater that was not properly ventilated caused the carbon monoxide leak, according to the fire department.
