Voters come up with creative KY-themed names for Blue Grass Airport snowplows
The Blue Grass Airport let voters decide the names of some of its snowplows, and the voters came up with some creative suggestions with Kentucky ties.
There were three unnamed snowplows, and the voters decided on Man O’ Plow, Snowbiscuit and American Pharsnow. Man O’ Plow is named after the busy Lexington road Man O’ War Boulevard, which Snowbiscuit and American Pharsnow are named after legendary, Kentucky-born racehorses.
Lauren Simmerman, the community relations manager for the airport, said the runways are open, and flight operations have returned to normal. There are still some delays Tuesday as airlines continue to play catchup from all the cancellations during Winter Storm Fern.
As of 1 p.m. Tuesday, there was only one canceled flight at the airport: an arriving Delta flight from LaGuardia Airport in New York. A few other flights were delayed by at least one hour.
