Traffic alert: Lane closures on I-64 to start Thursday night in Fayette County

Some lanes of Interstate 64 in Fayette County will be closed Thursday night so crew can install a new sound barrier, according to Kentucky Transportation Cabinet officials.

Both eastbound and westbound lanes of the I-64 will experience rolling lane closures as crews work to place and install the new barrier walls in the area near Leestown Road.

Work is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 8, and continue until 6 a.m. Friday, April 9.

Motorists are advised to use caution and watch for signage and work crews in the area.

All work and closures are scheduled on a tentative basis and subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors, transportation officials said.
